Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
You cant be lucky over 38 games!
That's the point of the whole league thing, it removes the luck thing. We are actually a good team.

I think the only team that throrougly outplayed us was Liverpool really. Maybe it was our attitude to it but we didnt have any control of that match. All the rest of the games we were always in with a chance. A lot of the games we controlled from start to finish.

The truth is our form from last season was pretty good at the end it just didnt seem like that because our position started off bad. Antonio was one of the the top scorers in the league after we restarted.

Rather like Leicester in their title winning season, the key was the end of the previous season form.

I suppose thats why I'm slightly worried about our drop in form over the last 5 games or so. I really hope that doesnt carry into next season.

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
We're currently 6th from bottom in the VAR table - strangely that's level with Man Utd and above Liverpool.

Other bad luck:
Top of the table for hitting the woodwork
Lanzini/Cresswell injuries v Everton
Balbuena red v Chelsea
Bottom three for penalties awarded

Just throw one other in that's interesting - the bottom 3 for getting yellow cards are Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool. Just coincidence...

COYI was posting when V was Faux Bare, and Faux Bare was clearly on a wind up most of the time. COYI on the other hand is always serious, repetitive and very boring. Like Fordstar was.

"What was Come on You Irons old username?"

He could be one of the many twats that frequent this site, only to run off crying and then appear under another username.

I think a few have suggested it's the cuckold V for Vendetta. He's certainly bitter over this site for some reason.

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
The team that had 33% less shots in the game and 50% less on target were deserving of a win and at least a draw...

The team with the most attempts on goal and the highest percentage of those attempts on target and converted as well as hitting the post twice were lucky undeserving winners..

Can we also have an assessment of the losses/drawers when we were UNLUCKY. You know - for balance.....

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Lucky because West Brom were the better team for most of the match. A West Brom win or a draw would have been a fairer result based on the play. 1-3 definitely flattered us.

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Rossal - Because Moyes took our best player off?

Or because we had more shits on goal or on target.. Or because COYI is the site Harry Kane...

You'd better hope that one goal which lead to one unlikely point doesn't end up the difference Come On Benrahma......

Yeah, what a boon it was for us to sign ONE GOAL, SAME GOALS AS ALISSON BENRAHMA.

Yes we were incredibly lucky to sign Said Benrahma.

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Having no fans has helped.
Less pressure.

At the start of the season we came in selling our top youngster, no real new signings.
Losing friendly games inc Brentford and then losing v newcastle at the start etc.
Doom and gloom GSB out it would of been a downfall if fans were in the ground booing

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Big question now is whether gsb can see the potential and really invest in the future or will they allow our best players to leave pleading poverty and showing total disinterest in manager, squad and the fans?

This is it in a nutshell.

Personally I don’t think that they have the means to sustain the progress made this season and while we might get a couple of signings Moyes is going to have to rummage through the bargain bin.

JayeMPee 2:05 Mon May 17
Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Considering injuries to key players, crap referees on occasions (which of the top 6 have had two pathetic red cards rescinded) and a wafer thin squad we have done brilliantly. Such a shame the 'killer' injuries came when they did, that really has affected the status today.

Big question now is whether gsb can see the potential and really invest in the future or will they allow our best players to leave pleading poverty and showing total disinterest in manager, squad and the fans?

Re: Have we had a 'lucky' season?
Are you lucky if the boss sets you up to be greater and the sum of your parts and the squad genuinely dwell and work for each other?

I am going to say no.

Are we going to be able to do it for more than one Season? Now that is a very different question.
